What to see and do in Saint-Pierre between 3 and 5 days? Discover the nature of this archipelago which offers superb landscapes. Stroll through the streets of the villages and admire their small colored houses. You can also discover museums and practice many sports activities.

DAY 1

Discovery of Saint-Pierre Island

1:00 pm (Newfoundland time): Departure from Fortune.

3:00 pm (St. Pierre time): Arrival in St. Pierre. You will be greeted by a representative of the Auberge Quatre Temps, who will ensure your transfer to the establishment. The 3-star accommodation is located at the foot of the mountain, in a quiet area of the city. It is also close to the stores and only a few minutes from downtown.

4:30 pm: You can enjoy a relaxing moment with a traditional snack in one of our cafés located in town: a cup of coffee or tea accompanied by a bun or macaroons Saint-Pierrais will seduce you.

5:30 pm : Then, stroll along the coastline to discover the colorful salt flats, the Pointe aux Canons and then meet the locals such as the Zigotos located at the salt flats n°20, who will be happy to offer you a ride on a dory and tell you the history of these boats. Enjoy a moment of musical relaxation with local artists at the saltworks n°24 with the Yellow Waves association, while discovering local products: conviviality and authenticity will punctuate your evening.

7:30 pm : The Auberge Quatre Temps will offer you a traditional meal in the evening, with local products, all in a typical and warm atmosphere. You will then be able to rest in your room, and regain strength for the rest of your stay.

DAY 2

Discovery of the île-aux-marins

Your day can start with a breakfast at the Auberge Quatre Temps.
10:00 pm : Discover Ile aux Marins with a guide from the Musée de l’Arche (reserve the guided tour the day before with the Musée de l’Arche or the CIT): facing Saint-Pierre, this small island, beaten by the wind and waves, was once a community of fishermen and pioneers. From the wharf to the cemetery, passing by the gravel pits, the church and the school, there are traces of an intense activity under often harsh conditions. This tour is proposed for a duration of 2 hours. This tour includes the entrance to the Archipelitude museum on the Island, as well as the entrance to the Arche museum in Saint-Pierre.

12:00 : You can end your escapade on this small piece of land with a meal at the Maison Jézéquel*, a listed building. In the early afternoon, enjoy a last walk on the Île aux Marins to discover the wreck of the Transpacific.

3:00 pm :period, a museum featuring objects testifying to the social, economic and religious evolution of the last two centuries. This tour will take you about an hour. Please note that the museum closes at 18:00.

4:30 pm : Afterwards, enjoy some free time to explore our boutiques*, to find the perfect souvenir and discover the talent of our local artisans. Need a little break? Enjoy a local snack in one of our many cafés.

6:00 pm : At the end of the afternoon, head to the Graves district for a stroll along the seafront to the end of the Digue aux Moules: you will certainly come across some seals. It will also be possible to walk or bike, depending on your preferences: rent bikes (traditional or electric) in the city center.

7:00 pm : The evening meal could be offered by l’Îlot, a restaurant located in the Terrasses du Port hotel complex, in Les Graves. L’Îlot is a gourmet landmark, a place made for tasting, sharing and discussing in a friendly atmosphere. The chef will offer you carefully selected seasonal products. Boldly creative, he highlights our local identity, our history and our culture which has always been linked to the sea. Head to the Auberge Quatre Temps for your second night: you can walk there after your meal to enjoy the coastline once again, or take a cab.

DAY 3

Excursion in a mini-van
Enjoy a breakfast at the Auberge Quatre Temps.

10:00 : In the morning, opt for a tour of the island by mini-van on request or by bus, lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes, to discover the island of Saint-Pierre. Your guide will be happy to tell you the history of the archipelago along the way, and a few photo stops will be planned. You can also take advantage of your entry to the Musée de l’Arche (included with the Sailors’ Island tour): you will find there a quality scenography, objects, texts, photographs, archives and works of art retracing the history of the islands. Note the exceptional presence of a guillotine. If you wish, you can take advantage of a last free time to stroll through the streets of Saint-Pierre to discover or rediscover our stores: attention, most of the stores close between 12:00 and 14:00 for the lunch break.

12:00 : Wake up your taste buds: go to one of our restaurants or cafés for your lunch.

15:30 : We advise you to continue your stay on the island of Miquelon-Langlade, with a mid-afternoon departure. It is possible to spend two nights there, many nature activities are available, you can refer to the Miquelon-Langlade itinerary.

DAY 4

Head for Miquelon
