DAY 2
Discovery of the île-aux-marins
Your day can start with a breakfast at the Auberge Quatre Temps.
10:00 pm : Discover Ile aux Marins with a guide from the Musée de l’Arche (reserve the guided tour the day before with the Musée de l’Arche or the CIT): facing Saint-Pierre, this small island, beaten by the wind and waves, was once a community of fishermen and pioneers. From the wharf to the cemetery, passing by the gravel pits, the church and the school, there are traces of an intense activity under often harsh conditions. This tour is proposed for a duration of 2 hours. This tour includes the entrance to the Archipelitude museum on the Island, as well as the entrance to the Arche museum in Saint-Pierre.
12:00 : You can end your escapade on this small piece of land with a meal at the Maison Jézéquel*, a listed building. In the early afternoon, enjoy a last walk on the Île aux Marins to discover the wreck of the Transpacific.
3:00 pm :period, a museum featuring objects testifying to the social, economic and religious evolution of the last two centuries. This tour will take you about an hour. Please note that the museum closes at 18:00.
4:30 pm : Afterwards, enjoy some free time to explore our boutiques*, to find the perfect souvenir and discover the talent of our local artisans. Need a little break? Enjoy a local snack in one of our many cafés.
6:00 pm : At the end of the afternoon, head to the Graves district for a stroll along the seafront to the end of the Digue aux Moules: you will certainly come across some seals. It will also be possible to walk or bike, depending on your preferences: rent bikes (traditional or electric) in the city center.
7:00 pm : The evening meal could be offered by l’Îlot, a restaurant located in the Terrasses du Port hotel complex, in Les Graves. L’Îlot is a gourmet landmark, a place made for tasting, sharing and discussing in a friendly atmosphere. The chef will offer you carefully selected seasonal products. Boldly creative, he highlights our local identity, our history and our culture which has always been linked to the sea. Head to the Auberge Quatre Temps for your second night: you can walk there after your meal to enjoy the coastline once again, or take a cab.
