Museum of Miquelon

This small museum, which bears witness to the Acadian origins of the island’s inhabitants, displays many surprising objects illustrating their customs and activities: a journey back in time!

The museum’s visit is included in the guided tour “Living the history of Miquelon” of the Maison de la Nature et de l’Environnement.

The year 1995 saw the creation of this modest museum in Miquelon. The Miquelon-Patrimoine association, since its creation in 1993, has given itself for objective, among others, to gather various objects which will remind some, and will make discover to others, the life of our parents in the first part of the XXth century.

 

Visit

What do we find there?

On the first floor, you will discover 6 very precise and complementary themes.

On the first floor, you will discover the photo development laboratory of Doctor L. Thomas, which was rebuilt under the same roof slope, as well as a magnificent model relating, in all its details, the work of the cod in the past.

An exhibition on the theme of philately is also presented.

The Miquelon Museum is open during the summer season only

• In the afternoon only on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm
• Monday to Saturday at noon the rest of the year
• On request at 0785846646 or 41-63-39 during office hours (except Wednesday morning)
