A word from the President of the Territorial CollectivityOur Territorial Collectivity is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Arche since our museum was inaugurated by the President of the Republic, Jacques Chirac, on September 7, 1999. The archipelago of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon has a rich history, a museographic heritage and archives to preserve and enhance. The particularity of our cultural institution is that it houses both the territory’s Archives Service and a museum, labeled Musée de France.
For 20 years, the Arche has been… events: More than sixty exhibitions designed or hosted (opening of the temporary exhibition room in 2014) Various events: 18 conferences, a symposium and a colloquium (international), about fifteen workshops and courses, 16 shows (hosted or organized), more than thirty various animations (meetings, screenings, book launches, etc. Regular participation in national (European Museum Nights, Archaeology Days, European Heritage Days, Blue Week) and local (Nuit blanche, Europe Week) events.)
